Our mission is to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We center all we do on Christ. One way that we do this is by studying His Word, the Bible. We encourage everyone who walks through our doors to become a student of the Bible. These weekly Bible studies are a great way to dive into God’s Word and grow in your faith.
SUNDAY
Seekers of His Heart
This group meets at 10:00-11:00 am (during the second service) in The Bible House Lounge (under the Chapel) and is a team-led class. The class will be starting a study entitled Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin. What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? Matthew’s gospel opens with three chapters containing Jesus’ longest recorded message – a sermon given to His disciples early in His ministry to articulate what the life of a Christ-follower would look like. It was a message intended to turn upside down every expectation His closest followers might have. Both practical and profound, the sermon asks of us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? What is the nature of true righteousness? In His sweeping depiction of kingdom citizenship, Jesus utters some of the most familiar passages in all of Scripture. Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right – a study on blessedness, a reflection on the Lord’s Prayer, a meditation on lilies of the field. But what if we navigated these three chapters as they were originally heard: as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification? This study does just that. Seat yourself on a mountainside to learn at the feet of Jesus. Ask for ears to hear and a heart to respond to the teaching of our King. This class is ongoing and meets every week, all year long. Feel free to join anytime! They meet both in person and virtually via Google Meet. Please contact Sue Newall at sjnewell76@gmail.com with any questions and for the Google Meet information.

Moms in Prayer
This group meets in the Church Library from 1:30-2:30 pm starting up again on September 21st. The vision of Moms in Prayer is that every school in the world would be covered with prayer. Would you prayerfully consider joining with other women in our church (mom and women who are not moms but have a heart to pray for our young people) to pray for the kids in our schools. With everything that is going on in our schools right now, we may feel like we are powerless to do anything. That is the farthest from the truth, we have an all powerful God to call upon. He is in control, and He is calling us to come together in prayer. For more information, please contact Karen Verhoog at northeast@momsinprayer.org
TUESDAY
Women of the Word
This group meets 9:30-11:30 am in both the Lower Chapel and online via Zoom starting up on September 15th. The Bible study we are studying is a Precept upon Precept study of the book of Jeremiah. We will be starting with part 1 of a 2 part series on the book of Jeremiah covering chapter 1-24. Jeremiah, a prophet appointed by God, spoke a hard message to the people of his day. It’s still God’s message today – a call to listen to His Word. Heeding Jeremiah’s message can bring healing and hope to all. Workday Virtual Women’s Bible Study
This group will be meeting virtually via Google Meet from 12:30pm – 1:15pm starting on September 15th. For this study, we will be using Understanding Spiritual Gifts by Kay Arthur. The subject of spiritual gifts can seem complicated: Who has spiritual gifts-“spiritual people” or everybody? What are spiritual gifts anyway? Understanding Spiritual Gifts takes you straight to God’s Word to discover answers from the Gift-Giver Himself. As you dig into Bible passages about God’s design for each of us, you’ll find out that spiritual gifts aren’t complicated – but they are life-changing. Here you will uncover what spiritual gifts are, where they come from, who has them, how they are received, and how they work within the church. As you study, you will have a new vision for how you can use your God-given gifts to bring hope to your home, your church, and a hurting world. For more information and/or the Google Meet link, please contact Kerri Schaefer at 201-230-3972 (call or text) or email kerrilynnschaefer@gmail.com .

Ladies in Touch
This group meets 7:00-8:00 pm both in-person in the Chapel and online via Google Meet and will be starting on September 8th. The fall bible study is in the book of Colossians . We will be using the book Be Complete: Become the Whole Person God Intends You to Be by Dr. Wiersbe. “We live in an age when everyone is trying to live richer, fuller lives. We’re told to buy this, try that, eat those, and say no to the rest, as if that’s all we need to do to make our lives complete. Two thousand years ago, the church at Colossae faced similar challenges. The Apostle Paul wrote a letter outlining the only way we can live complete lives: Christ. What can we learn today from this ancient church? Called by many scholars the ‘most profound letter Paul ever wrote,’ Colossians warrants a careful, faithful study. In this short, but exciting letter, Paul makes the case for the supremacy of Christ in all things.” For more information and/or the Google Meet link, email Rosette Almoyan at rosettealmoyan@hotmail.com
