Our Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of the Hawthorne Gospel Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

In the verbal inspiration of all the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, and that they are the final authority in faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 5:17

In one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
John 6:27; Hebrews 1:8; John 10:30; Acts 5:3-4; Matthew 28:19

In the total depravity of all humanity, and the necessity of regeneration.
Romans 3:9-11; Ephesians 2:1-4; John 3:3, 16, 36

That salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from works, and is possessed by all who by faith received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Ephesians 2:8-10; John 5:24; 1 John 5:13

In the virgin birth of Christ, and that he is true God and true man. That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that with his shed blood, he obtained for us an eternal redemption. In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in his ascension into heaven, and in his present life as our high priest and advocate.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Hebrews 1:8; John 1:1; Revelation 19:16; Galatians 4:4; Luke 2:52; Luke 19:10; Matthew 20:28; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 1:21; 1 John 2:2; Hebrews 5:9; John 10:11-17; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Peter 2:5-9; 1 Timothy 2:5

The Holy Spirit

That the Holy Spirit is a divine person and that he indwells all believers.
1 Corinthians 2:10, 11; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 5:5

End Times

In the personal, pre-millennial, imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:11-20:3; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
Luke 14:14; John 5:28, 29; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21, 22

Our History

There was a time in the history of the Hawthorne Gospel Church when there was no church building and the roads of the community were dirt ones. There, the seeds of a ministry were born when laborers for God’s vineyard came together in a firehouse to pray.
