We believe no one is beyond the reach of God’s restoring power, and no one should have to walk this journey alone.

Desire 4 Hope Ministry is a Christ-centered outreach of Hawthorne Gospel Church, committed to sharing the hope and love of Jesus with those who are hurting, lost, or struggling. The ministry serves individuals facing addiction, homelessness, poverty, and spiritual need through relationship-based outreach, prayer, detox & Christian recovery placement, and, most importantly, the Gospel.
Desire 4 Hope conducts weekly outreach in Paterson, meeting people where they are and pointing them to healing, restoration, and new life in Christ. While now under the covering of Hawthorne Gospel Church, the ministry continues to function with the same mission and heart—bringing light into dark places and hope through Jesus.
Christian Freedom from Addiction (CFA) meets every Monday at 7:00 PM in the chapel and is a fellowship of men and women seeking freedom from addiction through the teachings of Jesus Christ and the application of God’s Word.
CFA welcomes people from all backgrounds—whether you’ve followed Christ for years or are just beginning to explore a relationship with Him. This is not a program, but rather a Christ-centered fellowship. Through Jesus Christ, we are offered true freedom from sin—not by our own strength, but through His finished work on the cross. As we surrender to Him and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, God breaks the chains that bind us and transforms our lives by His grace (John 8:36; Romans 6:22).
