Questions

Do you have any

Questions?

If you’re new to church, we know that can be intimidating. Sometimes you don’t know what to expect. But here are answers to a few of your questions you may have so that you can know what to expect if you come visit our church. If you have any more questions, feel free to email us or give us a call.

Do you have coffee/Can I bring coffee with me?

The most important question should get answered first. Yes we have coffee in the pavilion if you need it. You can also bring coffee yourself if you want to.

What do I bring?

Just come with a heart ready to encounter Jesus. You don’t have to bring anything with you, but if you have a Bible, bring it. The message every week focus on something in the Bible and it’s easier to follow along if you have one with you.

What do I wear?

Dress comfortably. Some people that attend dress formally, some people that attend dress casually. However you want to dress is up to you. We care much more about whether or not you come with a ready heart because God looks at the heart, not the outward appearance.

What time should I arrive?

Our services are at 8:25am, 9:55am, 11:25am, and 5:00pm. Come a few minutes before so you can meet a few people and get your heart and mind ready for worship.

Where do I park?

You can park anywhere in the front of the church. If all the spots are taken there is parking in the back of the church near the woods. We have parking attendants that will be able to guide you where to park. It’s pretty simple, so don’t let parking be an obstacle as to not coming to worship Jesus.

What if I have a wheelchair or need handicapped parking?

We have a number of handicapped parking spaces as well as an access ramp and elevator to the sanctuary. We also have a shuttle service which can help you move from your car to the sanctuary. Everything on our campus is wheelchair accessible.

Is there anything for my special needs child?

Yes! We have an excellent special needs child care at Hawthorne Gospel. Each Sunday there are two special needs classrooms available during the 9:55 a.m. service to accommodate those who cannot attend a typical children’s class. Our volunteers offer a safe and secure place for children to go and learn about God’s love. We also offer Buddies who can assist higher functioning children and youth with special needs as they learn about God alongside their peers. We offer Buddies on Sundays during the 9:55 Sunday school classes.

Where do my children go?

We take child security seriously. All children must be registered and signed in each week. All children’s ministry volunteers have to complete service questionnaires and go through training and background checks before working with our children. We also encourage you to bring your child to church with you if they are old enough to listen.

Are there classes for adults?

We offer classes for adults during the 9:55 and 11:25 services. If you want to get even deeper into the Bible and know more about what it is talking about, we suggest taking courses in the Hawthorne Community Bible School where you can register for free courses and work your way toward a certificate or a degree. What are the office hours?
