Children's Ministry

Our purposes in Children’s Ministries are to share the Gospel with children, allowing them to experience God through worship and activities, encouraging spiritual growth through scripture and Bible lessons, that they may, in turn, share the gospel with their family and friends to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Opportunities

We have plenty of places where kids can get plugged in. We have Sunday School classes, groups throughout the week, and camps and schools! At Hawthorne Gospel Church, the safety of your child is a high priority for us. For this reason, all of our volunteers have been screened with background checks for security. All children will need a registration card filled out at the time of their first visit.

Children's Sunday School

We desire your children to come to know Jesus at a young age and for them to grow in their love for Jesus every single day. For this reason we have a lot of opportunities for Children at Hawthorne Gospel Church.

Sunday School is offered during the 9:55 service and is a place for your child to learn about Christ’s love through bible stories, scripture memorization, and songs. Each of our Sunday school class curricula builds off of the previous years to build continuity.

  • Children 2 and younger will meet in the nursery
  • 3 year-old class in C-1
  • 4 year-old class in C-15
  • Kindergarten class in C-9
  • 1st grade class in C-4
  • 2nd and 3rd grade classes in C-10
  • 4th and 5th grade classes in Y-201

Children's Church
Children meet in room E2B right by the playground and learn about God's love through Bible stories. Any children 3 and older may attend.

Club 208
Club 208 is offered during the 5:00 service, and is a place for your child to experience Christ’s love through bible stories, crafts and practical application. You can register your child for Club 208 in the lobby of the church and have your child sit with you during the service. The children will be dismissed before the sermon to meet their teacher in back of the sanctuary for the lesson. Club 208 meets in c-4 for kindergarten through 5th grade.

Nursery
Nursery is provided at all of our services, 8:25, 9:55, 11:25 and 5:00.

Special Needs
Each Sunday there are two special needs classrooms available during the 9:55 a.m. service to accommodate those who cannot attend a typical children’s class. Our volunteers offer a safe and secure place for children to go and learn about God’s love.

We also offer Buddies who can assist higher functioning children and youth with special needs as they learn about God alongside their peers. We offer Buddies on Sundays during the 9:55 Sunday school classes.
