Bible Studies

Our mission is to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  We center all we do on Christ.  One way that we do this is by studying His Word, the Bible.  We encourage everyone who walks through our doors to become a student of the Bible.  These weekly Bible studies are a great way to dive into God’s Word and grow in your faith.

Moms in Prayer

The vision of Moms in Prayer is that every school in the world would be covered with prayer. Would you prayerfully consider joining with other women in our church (mom and women who are not moms but have a heart to pray for our young people) to pray for the kids in our schools. With everything that is going on in our schools right now, we may feel like we are powerless to do anything. That is the farthest from the truth, we have an all powerful God to call upon. He is in control, and He is calling us to come together in prayer. This group meets on Mondays at 1:30 pm. This group has taken a break for the summer but will start up again in the fall when school starts. For more information, please contact Karen Verhoog at NewJersey@momsinprayer.org

TUESDAY

Women of the Word

This group meets on the Hawthorne Campus at 9:30-11:30 am in both the Lower Chapel and online via zoom. This study is led by Kathryn Wansong. This group will be meeting up to and including December 19th and will take a break until January 9th. They will be doing a Precept upon Precept study on the books of 1&2 Thessalonians. 1 Thessalonians – Are you an example to others? Learn the principles of exemplary Christian living. Understand the spiritual warfare, sparked by the presence of the gospel in the world, and the rapture of the church—God’s ultimate rescue. 2 Thessalonians – Don’t be confused about “the Day of the Lord.” The Thessalonians were interested in the end times, just as we are today. But they were confused until they received this letter from Paul. Include this book in your study of prophecy to fully understand what God says about the last days. For more information, email Kathryn at kwansong@hawthornegospel.org

They will be doing the study entitled ABIDE: A Study of 1,2, & 3 John by Jen Wilken. “How can we hold onto assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us? This study will help you discover how 2,000 years later, the apostle John’s words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth. He reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us as well.” This study will run until March 1st. The next study will be announced ASAP. For more information, email Peggy at peggygoitz@gmail.com. **There is a storytime for children during this group.
