Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in
spirit and of one mind. Philippians 2:2
We all need encouragement these days and what better way than to take 21 days leading up to Easter to focus on prayer!! We want to be unified as a church family by praying over the same daily verses and refreshing each other and our communities in the process.
When it Starts: March 13th-April 2nd
What to Do: We’re asking for you to commit to 10 minutes of intentional prayer that encourages us as a church family, reminds ourselves of how we are rescued in Christ, and refreshes others by reaching out in love and compassion. Once you are committed, we have a special gift for you; an original mug designed just for our church. This special mug is a daily reminder to encourage you to stay the course, keep your eyes on Jesus, and dig deeper into your prayer life.
How to Follow Along: Everyday we will have a ‘rescue reminder,’ which is a verse to think and pray over, and a ‘refresher,’ which is an action step in response. You will receive a prayer card with your mug to help stay on track with what to pray for and do each day.
Helpful Tips:
● Buying a journal can be helpful to keep track of who you contacted and are praying for. Having dates and names allows us to look back and see the answered prayers!
● Find an accountability buddy to go through this challenge with together. Together, you can help each other stay on course.
● Try to reflect and see God’s character in each of the verses that show compassion and love for others like Christ has shown us.
Also, be sure to follow our social media pages as we will be posting videos & info to help us all stay committed together!
Day 15 – Saturday, March 27, 2021
Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 - “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” |
Refresher: ‘Take 5’ - Name 5 gifts or characteristics God has given you and thank Him for each one. After thanking God for these gifts and characteristics, reflect on how He made you for a specific purpose with specific talents. If you don’t already know some of your spiritual gifts, we encourage you to pray for God to reveal them to you. |
Day 16 – Sunday, March 28, 2021
Verse: Psalm 139:13-14 - “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” | Refresher: We all need reminding of God making us with purpose! Tell someone in our church family how you see God work through them in some specific way and how it inspires or motivates you! Let’s encourage each other as we press on! |
Day 17 – Monday, March 29, 2021
Verse: Colossians 3:1-2 - “Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” |
Refresher: ‘Music Day’ - Blast a worship song that reminds you of the hope found in Jesus...play it all day long and ask God to keep your mind fixed on things above! |
Day 18 – Tuesday, March 30, 2021
Verse: John 16:33 - “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” | Refresher: The song from yesterday that is still in your head hopefully? Share it! Text it or play it in the car with someone and let it be an opportunity for conversations on more than just small talk! |
Day 19 – Wednesday, March 31, 2021
Verse: 1 Samuel 16:7 - “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as a man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” | Refresher: ‘Confession Time’ - Confess to God (whether out loud or to yourself) how you judged someone else this week...ask for forgiveness, and ask God to change your heart to see others as God sees them. |
Day 20 – Thursday, April 1, 2021
Verse: Galatians 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (In memory of Vera Amaral) | Refresher: Ask God to help you love others today...to go out of your way to show love in the small stuff. Take this time to pray over and hand out the gift mug to someone you believe needs the encouragement of HOPE. Some other examples to show love today: open doors for others, no road rage, smile at others (even under your mask), let someone cut in front of you while waiting in line, pay it forward in a drive-thru, say thank you or please to family members, etc.. |
Day 21 – April 2, 2021 | ||
Verse: Hebrews 12:1-2 - “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” | Refresher:
You did it!! Today, buy a devotional or Bible and pray over who to give it to! Ask God to reveal who you could continue to walk alongside and study God's Word together! Whether it be someone that has never had a Bible or someone that has not been motivated; let's walk alongside each other now and do it together! If you don't know where to begin, jump into one of the classes or small groups at church and start there! |
