D.L. Moody said “When you save a child, you save a life—a whole life”. There is a season in a person’s life when they are most open to learning what it means to trust God. It’s a season—sometime between 4-14 years old—when people are more moldable than they will ever be in their lifetime. It’s when people are forming their understanding of the world, of relationships, of love, of God. It’s a season when people are impressionable. We should be intentional about ensuring that they get the right impression.
What is rooted in the heart of a child is almost impossible to uproot in the life of an adult. There are many places to serve in Children’s Ministry with all different age groups. You can serve on Sunday mornings or evenings; on Wednesday night at Kid’s Klub; or at Vacation Bible School at the end of June. Contact Sandy Lynn Bober at 973-427-6960 X 166 if you are interested in serving our children.

Passaic County Jail
Hawthorne Gospel Church has been approved to travel behind the bars at this jail to lead chapel and small group Bible studies with inmates. There is opportunity for women to help women there grow spiritually while they are incarcerated with the hope of strengthening their relationship with Christ. This will help prepare them for their release or move to a long-term facility. There is also high probability that many who come to these services do not know Jesus as their Savior, so what a privilege to be able to plant seeds or lead them to Christ! If you are interested in joining those already going, please contact Tim Stanley at 973-427-6960 X161 for more information and how to get involved.
Crossroads Prison Ministries facilitates Christ-centered mentoring relationships between people in prison and volunteers from churches throughout the world. These relationships are formed through studying the Bible together and exchanging letters that transform both those inside and outside prison walls. Everything is done through the mail. Addresses are NEVER revealed as the mail flows through Crossroads and the church. Contact Tim Stanley at 973-427-6960 X161 for more information and how to get involved.
