Founded in 1934, the Hawthorne Community Bible School is the oldest Bible school in the New York Metropolitan Area. Here individuals may enroll in 12- week semesters in the fall and winter. The Bible School is financed by a freewill offering collected at the start of each evening. A three-year certificate and a four-year diploma may be earned in the Hawthorne Community Bible School through the Hawthorne Gospel Church. The new semester will begin in September.

Survey of Bible Doctrine II

Developing a Biblical Worldview

Course Description: The dominant worldview that determines how one looks at God, ourselves and the purpose of life is a secular one. This worldview determines how we will live and respond to our world. This class will help us develop an alternative, biblical worldview so that we can better understand our world and our role in it.

God's Amazing Chesed

Course Description: In this class we will study Biblical references to and illustrations of chesed in the books of Moses, History, Psalms, Prophets, and the New Testament. Because of God’s chesed, his loyal love, we rejoice with the Psalmist and sing: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His faithful love endures forever” (Psalm 136:1).
This class will take place in the Bible House Lounge. It is an in-person only class.
Old Testament Survey II

Theology of Literature and Poetry

Course Description: This class will study literature and poetry and will seek to develop a biblical worldview toward the things that we read. We will study different authors and what they thought of God and then discuss how we as Christians should understand these books. This class will be highly interactive.
