High School Student Ministry – (Grades 9-12)
Our High School student ministry is led by Jake and May Minnema who have a deep passion for the students to take ownership of their faith in Christ! Our year-long focus is “Remain” where we are meditating on what it means for us as believers to abide in Christ day by day, moment by moment. Everything we do revolves around students becoming more devoted followers of Jesus Christ…and we have a LOT of fun doing that! From snow camps and retreats, to guy/girl specific hangouts, we have an awesome time as we seek Christ together. Although, you don’t need to feel like you ever “have it all together” to come to any of our groups! We always spend time talking about the tough questions of life and faith as well as practical ways to live as a high school student in this tough culture. We also have an amazing group of leaders who care deeply about the students. We would love to see you out at any of our groups.
Here are our weekly events:
Sunday Evenings 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
A great place for “first timers” as we have a bigger group of students on Sunday nights than other groups. On a typical night we spend time in musical worship with a student-led band, hear a relevant message on how the Bible applies to our lives in the present, and spend a lot of time hanging out, playing ping pong, or some soccer/basketball in the gym at the end of the night.
Wednesday Evenings 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Bible study is one of our favorite times of the week. We truly feel there is nothing that transforms a life like the power of the Word of God, so we dig deep into the text each wednesday, seeking what God wants to show us through it! We usually study through a specific book taking it chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. Anyone is welcome to Bible study and it is a smaller group so we get more “face time” talking together than a youth group night.
SMW (Sunday Morning Worship)
Sunday Mornings 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
SMW is different than the normal traditional sunday school. We meet up in theLoft to begin the morning in worship and prayer together. Then the high school students will alternate each week between a large group lesson with all of the other students, or a small group with just their age and gender. Our small groups are led by amazing leaders who have a passion for the students to grow in a deeper relationship with Christ.
